Klingstone PathwayDid you know that GMI has a sister company called Klingstone Paths?  In the spring of 1997, Old Colonial Williamsburg contacted us to help solve a problem.  As a national historic site, their pathways consisted of loose pea gravel, which were both attractive and maintained the historical theme.  However, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) mandated that the pathways be wheelchair friendly.  Therefore, our chemists modified one of our existing formulas for a topical application, which resulted in the loose stones being glued together into one continuous pathway.  As a result, Williamsburg’s pathways retained their historical look and disabled visitors could enjoy the same views as everyone else.  Problem solved!

Klingstone Paths resin is a medium viscosity, aromatic, one- component polyurethane binder. It is a multi-purpose, high-performance, moisture cure adhesive that can be used on a wide variety of substrates where good elastomeric properties are needed. The product is applied as a liquid and, once cured, binds aggregate to create a firm, cohesive, yet permeable surface.

There are two options from which to choose:

Klingstone Amber is a more amber color ideal for multicolored aggregate.  Klingstone Klear is best suites for white stone.  In the vast majority of cases, Klingstone Paths Amber is the most appropriate choice. Take a few minutes to check out the Klingstone Paths website to learn more!

Application is straightforward and can be done by a contractor or a homeowner, depending on size.  Installers pump Klingstone directly from the drum to the bunker where it penetrates the bunker soil surface, reacts with moisture and cures to provide a firm, durable barrier. Typical coverage is 12 square feet per gallon, but application rates may vary based on the specific application.  Technical representatives are available to walk you through your project from start to finish.  Just call 1-800-942-5151.
