SafetySafety should be the the number one priority on any job site.  With that in mind, this post focuses on Mountain Grout customers working with mdi-based products safely.  The vapor pressure of MDI is very low.  Due to that very low vapor pressure, in normal usage the product must be heated or atomized (aerosolized) to raise the level in the air to approach the Threshold Limit Value (TLV).  The TLV is the level set by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).  It is the limit deemed to be safe for most workers.

If Mountain Grout Polyurethane is being handled in a way that could generate airborne vapors, an air supplied respirator should be utilized.  The sole exception is if the air is tested and shown to be safe.  Additionally, other personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, long sleeves, and protective eyewear should be used where there is any chance of exposure. Remember, proper air circulation is always beneficial and all necessary precautions should be taken in confined spaces.  Finally, consult and follow all directives in the Safety Data Sheet for the specific product(s) on site.  Safety Data Sheets for the majority of Mountain Grout products are on the website.  Following all necessary precautions will help installers in working with mdi-based products safely.
